Fold it, tape it, cut it!
Let your kids work 3-Dimensionally! Toilet paper rolls, egg cartons, ribbons, string, cardboard boxes, tissues, rubber bands (in our case sparkly hair elastics), beads, paper plates, plastic cups, milk cartons, tape (as good as gold in our house...I'm thinking I need to buy stock in Scotch Tape)! If you have a hard time with clutter like I do, sculptures are hard to want to promote, however I've learned to take photos and clear out when the sculptures have done their time. Sculptures are my daughter's opportunity to make her inventions life-like. Essentially she is inventing her own toys. Teach them to fold paper. bend cardboard, cut holes and fancy edges, tie and combine unexpected objects. I went down to the playroom to find some examples for you. Here's what I found...
